The 24th Annual Hunger Walk

SJOM is one of 600 member agencies of The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). As part of our residential services, SJOM provides 3 meals a day for up to 34 hungry men! Because of this great demand, we purchase most of our food from the GCFD at an extremely discounted rate. However, it still costs the agency nearly $3,500 annually to feed that many men. Through the Hunger Walk, SJOM and its supporters have the opportunity to raise funds to go specifically toward buying our food from the GCFD.
This is a great opportunity for the community to get involved with our mission of helping homeless men become self-sufficient, and provides several ways to participate.
To help us fight hunger, you can:
1) Collect pledges from family, friends, and co-workers, grab your sneakers and sign up to walk with the SJOM Team!
2) Sponsor the SJOM Team through a donation.
Want to collect pledges but aren't able to join us in the walk? No Problem, your pledges still count!
Want to walk but don't know where to get pledges? No Problem, the more walkers we have the day of the event, the greater SJOM benefits!
The walk is 1.5 miles, and family friendly. It will take place on
SATURDAY. JUNE 20. at Montrose Harbor.

9:30 am- Step-off
Entertainment includes the Jesse White Tumblers, various choral groups, face painting and caricatures. Hunger Walk t-shirts, goody bags, and refreshments will also be provided. Walkers will also get an SJOM hat to represent the agency!
