MIDWEST GENERATION

Claudia Calderon from Midwest Generation presents Israel and San Jose Obrero Mission with a check for $500.00 on behalf of the company's employees.

SJOM is honored to be chosen by Midwest Generation employees to receive their annual gift.  On December 23, 2008 we were surprised and delighted to have Ms. Claudia Calderon from Midwest Generation, part of Edison International, present a check of $500.00 in support of our mission.   Each year, the Chicago based company chooses agencies making noticeable contributions to improving the vibrancy and lives of individuals in their communities.

This is not the first time SJOM benefited from the generosity of Midwest Generation, however.  The company has also donated food items in the past, helping to ensure that SJOM is able to provide participants with substantial, healthy meals.  Making sure the men get adequate sustenance is a key part of the services SJOM offers.  Having their basic needs met allows the men to focus their energy on establishing stable housing and increasing their income.

It is through generous donations such as this from our corporate, foundation, and individual supporters, that we are able to provide the homeless individuals who come to SJOM with quality, comprehensive services.

Together, with Midwest Generation and all of our other supporters, we are working to bring hope to the homeless and end homelessness in Chicago.
