A Brand New Day: Celebrating Hope and Self-Sufficiency
San Jose Obrero Executive Director Mr. Juan Alegria
On November 11th, 2015, our annual gala was held at the historical landmark Thalia Hall. Partners, sponsors, and community leaders gathered to celebrate 34 years of the agency’s fight against homelessness in Chicago.
During the festivities various participants shared their experience, their plights, and hopes for a brighter and better future. For many guests this was a moment to reflect on how their support of SJOM’s mission continues to help families and individuals overcome the crises that led them to homelessness, and succeed.
Former SJOM board member Susan Hall was honored. St. Nichola's Parishioners were there to accepted the award on her behalf.
A Brand New Day gala was a night to remember—full of smiles, laughter, and the joy of people all coming together to celebrate the success of our agency and the vulnerable populations it serves. Accompanied by music, entertainment, cocktails, and a delicious meal: there was no doubt that our guests, board members, and staff were able to experience a memorable night that honored their efforts, and inspired us all to continue to do good for those in need.
