Behind the scenes as pro-democracy rebels in Myanmar battle towards authorities repression.

Within the aftermath of Myanmar’s navy coup in February 2021, and the brutal suppression of the protests that adopted, hundreds of pro-democracy activists determined to battle again towards the generals.

Many fled into the distant countryside to hitch the armed resistance, recognized collectively because the Individuals’s Defence Drive (PDF), and search coaching, weapons and assist from long-established ethnic insurgent teams, such because the Kachin Independence Military (KIA) and the Karen Nationwide Liberation Military (KNLA), which have been battling the Myanmar navy, or Tatmadaw,  for a number of a long time.

Individuals & Energy gained entry to a few of these on the entrance line in an more and more brutal battle that’s largely hidden from the world’s gaze.
